WHAT'S NEW?

• In addition to traditional group obedience classes, our dog trainer, Summer Thomas, is starting seminars in January 2012 that highlight specific training challenges such as jumping and barking. Visit her Facebook page for the most up-to-date schedule.

• Summer Thomas recently completed her CPDT-KA certification from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).  We are privileged to have such an experienced and compassionate dog trainer on staff.

  Summer knows from first-hand experience the difference dog training makes in the relationship between dog and owner.  Without professional training, it can be a frustrating relationship.  However, with an investment in good training, a wonderful transformation can occur.

  Summer has been training dogs for more than 10 years and received her certification as a professional dog trainer in 2005 from Animal Behavior College.  She earned her CPDT-KA in 2011 from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).  She continues her education by attending canine behavior and training seminars and classes.  She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) which keeps her up to date on training techniques and behavior issues.  She is also a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator approved by the American Kennel Club (AKC).

Dog trainers at well known national pet retail stores may have as little as one day of training before being allowed to teach a class. With Summer you have the confidence of working with someone with extensive experience; you can be certain she will provide excellent training advice.
